IoT firm, Gooee, have released their first development kits to lighting manufacturers on the opening day of LuxLive in London.
The new kits are the latest step forward in the growing IoT revolution, and will allow Gooee partners, Feilo Sylvania, Aurora Lighting and John Cullen Lighting to integrate their lighting products with IoT-enabling technology.
The physical roll out of the Gooee kits will start in March 2017 and the company hopes that the product will become available to consumers towards the end of next year.
Each kit will allow users to access Gooee’s IoT gateway, wireless interface module (WIM) development boards, which provides the link between the Gooee Cloud and hardware.
The Gooee announcement is in tune with the wider sound of LuxLive 2016, which is seeing a growing focus on IoT products as companies react to the falling price of LED modules.
'IoT lighting is the next-generation for our industry,' Neil Salt, managing director of the IoT division at Aurora Group, commented during the show.
'The new technology is an enabler for the IoT revolution to continue and ensures we can embrace innovation to further our place at the forefront of the LED lighting market.'
LuxLive is devoting an entire arena this year to the discussion and debate of issues surrounding the Internet of Things. You can find a full programme here.
