Lux webinar: Lighting in Schools

Best Practice: Lighting in Schools is a Lux Review webinar, to be broadcast on Wednesday 27th April at 1pm (BST).

Modern learning is not the simple by-rote exercise that many of us remember from our own school days. The 21st century school is dynamic and multi-layered and lighting has become an integrated feature of that learning environment. The webinar will discuss the application of the latest lighting technologies, looking at the ways in which lighting and its control not only provides efficient energy management but also enhances the learning environment for students and teachers.

Amongst the topics to be discussed will be the use of dynamic ‘human-centric’ lighting. This is a system of illumination that supports the body’s natural circadian rhythms, changing the intensity and colour of lighting throughout the day and according to school activity.

The presentation will be given by Simon Allard, Managing Director, and Jordan Shackleton, lighting designer, both of Dextra Lighting Ltd, with John Bullock, Applications Editor of Lux Review, hosting the event.
