Lights out at MHA

MHA Lighting has gone into administration. Manchester-based Duff & Phelps has been appointed as administrator. It is understood that the business is still trading, working on residual orders only. Duff & Phelps is not looking to sell MHA as a going concern, but is liaising with interested parties to sell the assets of the business.

Atherton-based MHA was one of the pioneers in selling LED lighting to end-user customers based upon energy efficiency, with installations including Manchester Airport and the NEC in Birmingham. Obviously warranties given for these projects are now worthless.

It is unclear what has brought the company down. “We don't have any underlying warranty issues,” said Andy Sheridan, services facilities manager at Manchester Airport. “In fact, we don't have any open claims with them.”
