Van der Heide takes on the newly created role of chief design and marketing officer at the Zumtobel Group, which owns the Zumtobel, Thorn and Tridonic brands. He starts in December.
As well as serving as chief design officer at Philips Lighting and earlier as a global leader at Arup Lighting, van der Heide has carried out a huge variety of independent lighting design work in the fields of architecture, entertainment and art. His work includes designing lighting for Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum and creating LED and OLED-lit stage costumes for the Black Eyed Peas. He has won a string of awards for lighting design during his 25-year career in the industry.
