LIA Labs has launched a new scheme to test lighting products for basic safety, initial performance and life to 2,000 hours, to confirm the claims made on manufacturers’ spec sheets and packaging. If everything is in order, manufacturers can use the LIA Labs and Energy Saving Trust’s ‘Verified’ stamps.
Specifiers can also check the details of all verified products online at www.lialabcert.org.uk.
The first product to be verified is Lighting & Electrical Distribution Group’s Eternity LED downlight.
LIA Labs, owned by the Lighting Industry Association, is currently undergoing a £700,000 expansion of its site in Telford, with a new goniophotometer, humidity chamber and lamp room.
