Havells-Sylvania to sell internet lamp

Havells-Sylvania is set to add an internet-enabled lamp to its range following the signing of an exclusive distribution deal with LiFX, the internet-sensation that started off as one of the fastest-funded Kickstarter projects of all time.

The 18W LiFX lamp is a Wi-Fi and mesh-radio enabled LED bulb that’s controlled with by either iPhone or Android device. It boasts over 1,000 lm and comes in both full-spectrum RGB and tuneable-white options. Unlike other Wi-Fi lamp offerings it doesn't need a gateway unit, as smartphones communicate directly with the lamps.

LiFX debuted on crowdfunding site Kickstarter in September 2012 with project funders pledging a total of $1.3m in just six days. The LiFX is the third in a series of tech deals signed by Havells. The company is also exclusive distributor for the Isotera contactless drivers and the Organic Response ‘distributed intelligence’ control system.
