A team of five from the lighting design agency beat off competition from Speirs + Major, Arup, DPA, LDI, Hoare Lea and the SLL to be named as winners of LightFight.
The high-spirited BDP team told Lux the contest had been a 'walk in the park', and are yet to decide if they will use the £2,000 travel bursary they won on a trip to Frankfurt, Paris, Barcelona or Blackpool.
They were presented with their champions' belts by Mike Collett of Wila.
The exciting event, organised in association with Wila and presided over by quizmasters Martin Lupton and Sharon Stammers of Light Collective, took place in front of a live audience at LuxLive today, with teams of lighting designers pitted against each other.
The competition included rounds on lighting-related topics such as photometrics, as well as sections on pop music and architecture.
The organisers have also donated a Little Sun solar-powered lamp to communities in the developing world for every one of the more than 100 designers who participated in LightFight.
