Energy suppliers named and shamed for leaving lights on

Some of Britain’s largest energy firms have come under fire for leaving lights on in offices after workers had left.

The head offices of Npower, Centrico and SSE had left lights on after most workers had finished work for the day, the Daily Mail reported.

All three companies have recently reported an increase in energy prices, with gas and electric bills to rise by eight per cent.

The companies defended the leaving of lights on in the evening, saying that some staff and security were still on site at the time the photographs were taken, and that motion sensors were installed.
