The report was based on interviews with 448 buyers across the UK and Europe. Respondents to the survey commissioned 496 lighting projects in the first half of 2013, accounting for around 15 per cent of all energy-efficiency upgrades, Bloomberg said.
Large corporations are leading the way with energy upgrade projects, with nine out of ten having commissioned energy-efficient technologies.
The report also highlighted customers’ different expectations of payback times. Most SMEs expected a short payback of three years (62 per cent), while only 14 per cent of public sector organisations expected to get a return on their investment in this time. Larger corporations and public sector bodies expected payback between three and five years.
