Lighting Industry Association appoints CEO

The Lighting Industry Association has appointed a new CEO, Steven Davies, who joins from the National Skills Academy.

Davies – who was introduced to the industry at the LIA annual lunch in London today – has been tasked with consolidating and building on the merger of the LA and LIF.

A mechanical engineer, Davies’ career has included senior positions at Bombardier Transportation, EEF Sheffield and SailTime North Wales.

Joint CEO Eddie Taylor is retiring, while Peter Hunt, the second joint CEO, will support Davies and concentrate on specific areas of the association’s business.

Alasdair McRury, European chief of Holophane, takes over the LIA presidency from Osram UK CEO Rune Marki.
