LIA Academy returns

As the lighting industry changes, how we learn about it needed to change too. Lighting education had been lacking for too long and was certainly not strong enough to support the skills needed for a fast moving and evolving lighting industry. So just over twelve months ago the LIA took on the challenge and the Lighting Industry Academy doors were opened. It’s been a great first year and the LIA were really pleased to be able to bring the Academy to LuxLive by holding two mornings of educational sessions. These were targeted at all who attended LuxLive to help provide the right level of understanding to support choosing, and using, the fantastic lighting products on show at the exhibition.

Feedback on the sessions has been really great: “I did enjoy your LIA Lighting Academy on 15th November at Excel it was very informative and mind blowing, excellent speakers and brilliant content'; 'Academy sessions were very impressive and professional'; 'I have to say it was a really worthwhile morning.   The knowledge passed on was great and the speakers were really good' Due to this success the sessions will be returning at the Lighting Industry Academy in Telford on 31st January 2018, from 10 am to 1:30 pm.

For those who want to come along there is the opportunity to visit the LIA Laboratory. This purpose built facility sits adjacent to the Academy and, as the largest independent test laboratory in Europe dedicated to lighting, provides a valuable insight into the rigorous levels that products can be tested to before being placed on the market.

So if you think the session may be useful, or you have colleagues who would benefit from attending, details can be found at https://www.thelia.org.uk/training-academy/courses/look-lighting. There is a small booking fee of £25+VAT, but lunch is included and CPD Certificates of attendance will be issued.
