My diary is filling up with judging appointments for this year’s Lux Awards. The mood, as ever, is buoyant – mainly because we have such a fantastic history of good quality work being entered for the Awards down the years.

These LED versions are designed as energy saving replacements for the original tungsten halogen filament lamps. These filament lamps were typically 25 – 50W whereas the LED versions are more often 2 – 4W.

The durability of Li-Fi, the system that delivers an internet service via the lights, has been tested during a terrorist attack drill in the United States. pureLiFi, the company behind the technology, teamed up with Verizon, Nokia and Aegex Technologies to host the attack scenario at the Disaster Preparedness and Tactical Training Centre in Georgia.
